Hi I’m Courtney Williams and I started my personal training career back in 2006 shortly after my first son was born (I have 3 childrenJ). I was looking for an opportunity to work from home and came upon a franchise business called Baby Boot Camp. At the time I was a teacher and enjoyed fitness and had danced all my childhood, so thought it was a wonderful opportunity and figured I would go for it even though I wasn’t a Fitness Professional. I was granted the Franchise throughout Lee & Collier County late 2006 and received my Personal Training Certification Dec 2006.
Over the past 8 years with Baby Boot Camp I have learned that I truly love the fitness industry. I love the amount of information that’s out there, I love the bonding that clients have with each other during their workouts, I love watching people reach and surpass their goals, and I love how it makes me feel when I see that I am the one helping these women reach goals and create long lasting friendships. The one thing I didn’t like though, was when my clients would come to me letting me know about an ache or pain that they were having, and there was nothing I could do about it. I had always learned that if they were in pain I should refer them out to a Dr; but what I was noticing was that all of these women seemed to be dealing with the same types of pain and most of them didn’t start to experience it until after they had a child.
I knew there must be more I could do and that was when I started taking a lot of Continuing Education courses around aches & pains and something called Corrective Exercise. OH MY GOSH! How exciting was this stuff. You mean to tell me that the way I was walking during pregnancy may have changed the way I walk now after having a child and has messed with my alignment which is why my hips, knees, and/or feet are hurting me?
From there my passion grew and I couldn’t get enough of the information. I went on to get Certified in Corrective Exercise through The BioMechanics Method with Justin Price. I love it and I love learning more about it each and every day. I can’t get enough of it and am so excited to begin working with clients so that they don’t suffer with the mild aches and pains that are sure to come with life.
My goal was never to begin another business but my passion has led me to this. If you are suffering with mild aches and pains that keep you from working out on a regular basis I want to be able to help you, or maybe you are just now thinking about getting back in shape and want someone who will work with you to help you reach your goals while providing you with a program that won’t hurt or hold you back in the process.
