Our feet are our foundation and I believe we take advantage of them. They are stuffed into shoes all day and we get upset if they start to hurt or get tired, but did you realize they are a sensory organ similar to your ears, mouth, nose, and hands.
How do you feel wearing a mask all day? I know for many of us we have begun to get used to it, but if you can remember back to when we first started to have to wear them how annoying it was. I'd assume this is exactly how the feet feel every time we shove them in shoes. They are designed to tell our body where it is in space, and if they are in shoes all day then they can't do their job so well.
Now this doesn't mean that I'm recommending you go without shoes for the rest of your life, as this isn't practical and could be dangerous; but what I do want to stress is that we need to make sure that we do take our shoes off throughout the day and make sure that we are moving and strengthening our feet.
I have provided you with some exercises that you can do for your feet and I also dive deeper into the importance of moving the feet more.
